Robert “Bud” Karl Neumann, age 86, of Ridgeway, Minn., passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at the La Crescent Golden Living Center.
Bud was born on July 9, 1926, in Ridgeway, to Emil and Emma (Groth) Neumann. He served his country for a short time in the U.S. Army and then came home to farm his dad’s farm at Ridgeway.
He married Marcella Larson on September 20, 1947, at Nodine.
Bud enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing softball in his younger years. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and old western movies.
Bud is survived by his wife, Marcella; daughter, Linda (Allen) Larson; son, Dean (Kris) Neumann; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jim) Conway, Derek (Aimee) Neumann, Dustin Larson and a great- grandchild, Jack Conway; one sister, Florence (Lyle) Bateman; brother-in-law, Lester Hogden and one sister-in-law, Donna Groth, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters; Della Neumann and Dorothy Hogden.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Minister of Christian Education Jon Woldt and Pastor Paul Welke officiating. Burial will be in Bush Cemetery, Ridgeway.
Pallbearers will be Derek Neumann, Dustin Larson, Steve Hogden, James Bateman, David Bateman, Gary Groth, Steve Groth and Dan Groth. Honorary pallbearer will be Jack Conway.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Martin-Myhre Funeral Home and at the church on Monday after 10 a.m.
A memorial is being arranged.
