Community members are invited to an after-Christmas gathering to honor family and friends who hold a special place in their hearts during this holiday season. On Thursday, December 27 at 4:30 pm, donors to the Winona Health Foundation Trees of Light campaign are invited to a short program and refreshments in the front lobby of the Winona Clinic to view the trees and take home the ornament(s) tagged with their honoree’s name.
“We have been very grateful at the generosity from so many people who choose to honor their friends and family members through a donation supporting Winona Health patients and families,” said Betsy Midthun, chief Marketing & Foundation officer. The five Trees of Light are heavily laden with colored ornaments, each denoting a different giving level and tagged with the name of the honoree.“Our patients and visitors have been enjoying the trees and viewing the names of people honored.” To date, there are nearly 2,000 ornaments on the trees.
Midthun noted that if donors cannot attend the gathering at 4:30 on December 27, the trees will remain on display until January 11 and donors are invited to take their ornaments during clinic hours anytime after December 27.
Donations to the Trees of Light campaign may still be made online, in person at the Foundation office on the first floor of the hospital at Winona Health, 855 Mankato Avenue, Winona, or by mail to that address.
