Wednesday, Dec. 19

At 6:44 p.m. deputies assisted the Lewiston Police Department in the investigation of a drug-related case, and arrested a 17-year-old Lewiston high school male. According to the report, school officials called police after finding an unattended backpack at the high school. Officials opened the backpack and found identification belonging to the 17-year-old male. Upon further investigation, police found a container of marijuana, a scale, small bags, and a pill bottle containing several pills of oxycodone. Deputies were called to the juvenile’s residence to assist in the investigation. Deputies transported the male to the Red Wing juvenile correctional facility and referred his case to the county attorney’s office. Official charges are pending.

Friday, December 14

At 1:44 a.m. police ticketed Alexander James Johnson, 21, of Winona, for fifth degree assault and disorderly conduct after he was allegedly involved in a physical altercation inside Cheater’s bar. Johnson, who is a bouncer at the establishment, was off duty when the bartender told a 31-year-old patron to leave because it was after closing time. According to the report, the patron said he wanted to finish his drink. Johnson then allegedly punched the patron in the face, knocking him to the ground. Police located Johnson at his residence and observed fresh abrasions on Johnson’s right hand. Johnson denied being involved in an altercation.

Thursday, Dec.20

At 1:34 a.m. police arrested and referred Sean Michael Emmons, 19, of Winona, for disorderly conduct and illegal possession of a firearm after he was involved in a physical altercation with two males outside a residence in the 1250 block of West Second Street. According to the report, Emmons ran toward the two males and, without provocation, hit one of the males in the face with his elbow. Emmons then fled the scene, only to return shortly afterward. The two males reported the incident to the police. When Emmons returned, the males held him to the ground and waited for law enforcement. One of the males said he was in fear for his life because the night before Emmons allegedly pointed a gun at him. Emmons has a prior felony conviction and was not to be in possession of a firearm.

Friday, December 21

At 5:21 a.m. police ticketed Jeremy David Klicka, 20, of Winona, for underage consumption of alcohol after he was found in the hallway of a residence in the 100 block of West Eighth Street. According to the report, a complainant in the area reported a possible break-in at the residence. When officers arrived, they found a male, identified as Klicka, passed out in the hallway. Klicka had a blood alcohol content of .19 percent.
