Icy bridge results in head-on crash (01/02/2013)

On December 29, at 10:59 a.m. the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Department took a report of a two vehicle crash with injuries on State Road 93 at County Road Y in the Town of Chimney Rock. A southbound vehicle lost control due to an ice-covered bridge deck and struck a northbound vehicle head on. Three people were transported to area hospitals, two by ambulances and one by helicopter. Fire departments and first responders from Eleva, Strum and Independence responded to the accident. The injuries did not appear to be life threatening at the time of the crash. Names of the persons involved have not been released.
