Merchlewitz, Randy P. ‘Buck’ (01/02/2013)

Randy P. “Buck” Merchlewitz, 53, of Winona, Minn., died on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Winona Health in Winona, Minn.

Buck was born on March 28, 1959, in Winona, to Richard J. and Nancy L. (Cole) Merchlewitz. He was raised in Stockton. He worked as a cement mason for many years. He married Jeanne Weisbrod; they were later divorced. On December 7, 2002, he married Theresa Flaten.

Buck was an excellent carpenter. In his spare time he enjoyed: fishing, hunting, cooking, canning and wildlife picture painting. He is survived by his wife, Theresa, daughter, Crystal Merchlewitz of Dover, Minn.; three stepsons: Jeremy (Emy) Rabe of Fillmore, Minn., Jamie (Stephanie) Rabe of Zumbrota, Minn., Dean (Denise) Rabe Jr. of Stockton, Minn.; parents, Richard and Nancy Merchlewitz of Winona, Minn.; grandchildren: Destiny, Dyllan, Autumn, Lilly, Aydin, Charlie, Jeremy, Gabriel and Olivia; brothers: Rick (Karla) Merchlewitz, of Lanesboro, Minn., Ronald (Arlene) Merchlewitz of Winona, Minn., Robert Merchlewitz of Stockton, Minn., Russell Merchlewitz of Mankato, Minn., and Rodney (Tammy) Merchlewitz of Ridgeway, Minn.; and his two friendly companions, his goat, Annie, and his dog, Ranger.

Buck was preceded in death by his brother, Roger “Bugsy” Merchlewitz; his grandparents: Joseph and Rose Merchlewitz and Delmer and Mary Cole, and by his uncle, Joe Merchlewitz.

A Celebration of Buck’s life will be at noon on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview, led by Funeral Celebrant Jenny Hoff. Visitation will be from 9 a.m.

to noon.
