Topic: judicial selection in Minnesota
Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. – open public forum – TV coverage – government access channels
Location: Winona City Hall, Council Chambers – second floor, 207 Lafayette Street, Winona.
The forum will be moderated by League of Women Voters (LWV) member and Winona County Attorney Karin Sonneman.
Panel members are: Judge Jeffrey Thompson, 3rd District Court Judge and Judicial Elections Committee of the Minnesota District Judges Association; Sarah Walker, President of the Coalition for Impartial Justice, lobbyist at Hill Capitol Strategies, Inc. and the founder of the Minnesota Second Chance Coalition; and Sherri L. Knuth, Public Policy Manager, League of Women Voters Minnesota.
The LWV is a non-partisan organization dedicated to providing communities with opportunities for citizen empowerment, voter information, and current issue education that help residents stay informed about decisions that directly affect our community.
The LWV firmly supports all three branches of our government to maintain our democracy.
This educational forum and all LWV public forums are open to the community. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
