Reward offered for information on damaged Aghaming Park sign (01/13/2013)
The Friends of the Refuge Headwaters are offering a $500 reward for any information leading to the conviction of the person or person’s responsible for the destruction of an informational kiosk at the entrance to Aghaming Park. The kiosk was burned sometime between December 16-24, 2012.
The kiosk named Aghaming Park the Fish and Wildlife Service’s “Aghaming Unit,” although a pending agreement with the city for the Fish and Wildlife Service to manage the land has not been completed. The sign also lists Fish and Wildlife Service rules for the park, although the service has not authority to enforce them on the city-owned property. The sign also included information on a new canoe trail around the park, which was “unveiled” in June as part of Steamboat Days.
Persons with information regarding this incident should contact Federal Wildlife Officer Rob Hirschboeck at 608-769-7174. All information will be kept confidential.
