Excluding Commissioner Ward, for whom I did not vote, the county commissioners and staff have proved beyond a shadow of a doubt their inability to research and investigate an expensive bidding process such as the current recycling contract with Veolia.
How could they wait until the contract is signed, sealed, and delivered to find the loopholes and ambiguous language? Where was the county’s legal department in this process? Isn’t a signed contract a signed contract?
Now reading that ironing out the existing problems per Ms. Morse would become a “sticky wicket,” a person can only reach one conclusion—that ineptitude, inefficiency, and incompetency best describe the awarding of the recycling program, not a cute British phrase!
How do the commissioners make a $900,000.00 contract language error?
