January 16
Harvest House, a nonprofit, non-denominational organization for 50 and getting better, will hold their monthly meeting Wednesday, January 16, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Stanislaus hall. Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 with Father Paul Breza, as celebrant, for those wishing to attend. There will be a business meeting. Our guest speaker will be Chief Paul Bostrack to give an update on crime in Winona. Bring a nonperishable food item for a needy family. Lunch will be served.
January 17
Minnesota City Community Readers will meet at the former Minnesota City School, 115 Iowa Street, on Thursday, January 17, at 6:30 p.m. Discussion will be on two novels: UNorthodox, The Scandalous Rejection of My Hasidic Roots by Deborah Feldman and Winter Wheat by Mildred Walker. The public is invited to the discussion whether or not they have read the books.

Winona Shrine Auxiliary will meet at 11:30 a.m. January 21, at Westfield Golf Club. The menu will be salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, salad, vegetables, and dessert. For reservations call Jane Haugan at 454-4253. There will be no meeting in February.

The Winona Area Crime Stoppers board of directors monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 22, at Timbers Restaurant in Winona. The meeting begins at 8:00 a.m. and is open to the public.
January 28
Winona Area Retired Educators Association (WAREA) will hold a membership meeting on Monday, January 28, at 8:30 a.m. at Perkins in Winona. HyVee dietitian-nutritionist Alex Economy is the guest speaker. Members, spouses, and the public are invited. If not called, contact Jane Habeck at 454-1430 or jhabeck@wildblue.net. The SEREAM spring conference will be April 24 at the Rochester Event Center and the REAM state conference at Treasure Island in Red Wing, September 16-18.
