I often wonder if the people who write “spiritual letters” to the Post ever sit down and actually read what God has written in his book! Or do they just follow what they are told every Sunday morning?
This is what is written in the book of Jeremiah, chapter 23:
“Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the Lord. Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people you have scattered my flock and have driven them away, and have not visited them, behold I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the Lord. For both the prophet and priest are profane, yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the Lord. Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Harken not unto the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain, they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord. They say still unto them that despise me; the Lord hath said: you shall have peace; and they say to every one that walketh after the imagination of their own heart; No evil shall come upon you. I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran; I have not spoken unto them, yet they prophesied. Behold I am against them that prophesy false dreams, and cause my people to err by their lies and by their lightness: yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all. In the latter days you shall consider it perfectly!”
Matthew 6:5-8: “And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrite for they love to pray standing in the synogogues and in the corner of the streets, that they may be seen of men. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut the door, pray unto thy Father which is in secret, and thy Father which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly!”
2 Corinthians 11:14: “If satan be transformed into an angel of light, therefore it is no great thing that his ministers also be transformed into ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works.”
