Are you concerned about frac sand mining, but have held back on speaking out? Here's your chance.
Winona County invites the public to comment, by Wednesday, on two proposed frac sand mines (Yoder and Dabelstein) in Saratoga Township. This is part of an environmental review called "EAW."
Find out how to comment at http://landstewardshipproject.org/posts/372
Send your written comments to Jason Gilman at jgilman@co.winona.mn.us or 177 Main Street, Winona MN 55987. Comments must be received by Wednesday 2/06.
Your comments should address the fact that these mines have the potential for significant environmental effects, and therefore, under Minnesota law, Winona County should require an EIS (in-depth study) to be done.
You may email me at jgurley@hbci.com if you are interested in helping us oppose frac sand mining. Thank you for caring -- your grandchildren will thank you.
