Dear friends, allow me to have a little visit with you today. I have been corresponding with you now for over two years, I know many of you and would love to meet the rest. I’m thinking about putting a book together of my most liked articles. Or with my daughter Lynette’s encouragement, have one of my past books reprinted - “The Game of Life” - any interest in me doing that? I feel I have graduated from the school of suffering, have learned many lessons concerning life (depression, losing several children, etc.). Now I’d like to do what I can to help others.
Yesterday I received an interesting phone call from a lady in California (Spanish descent I think) asking me about the book “Struck By Lightning.” I guess the article I’d written about Gloria Polo’s death experience somehow made it to Facebook or something. I don’t speak computer language. Yes, I do have this very interesting book for $5.00. Call me at 507-452-2570 or write me: Mary Zimmerman, 318 Orrin Street, Winona, MN 55987.
Well, how’s the new year going for all of you? I didn’t make it upstairs to clean the storeroom yet, I’m just waiting and hoping the change in my heart medication (going a bit fast) will soon give me more energy.
We just passed the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, January 22. How long, we ask, can this terrible killing continue? Five-hundred-seventy-eight- thousand children dead in Minnesota alone. It makes us realize the sins of abortion are so displeasing to God (but He will forgive you) it takes time to make amends, keep marching and praying. God is on our side, so victory will come. If we can’t change laws we can change hearts. We must show much love and concern for the pregnant women so they can see their future being fulfilled by raising their child, or be encouraged to let other loving, waiting parents adopt and raise their child. There is absolutely no reason to kill any unborn child - not rape, nor incest, nor a future special needs child, so come on friends, let’s go the extra mile to do what we can to end abortion.
Our granddaughter Harley, from Dover, spent the weekend with us. That was great. It’s occasions like this that we as grandparents realize what really matters - to live, laugh and love together as a family. We are all family.
Well if I quit now I think I should have room for the 7-Ups I promised I’d share with you:
1. Wake Up - Decide to have a good day. 2. Dress Up - Put on a smile. 3. Shut Up - Say nice things and learn to listen. 4. Stand Up - For what you believe in. 5. Look Up - To the Lord 6. Reach Up - For something higher 7. Lift Up - Your prayers.
Till next time, all my love and God bless - Mary.
