Business Office After Hours

The Winona Health Business Office will have a financial representative available the first Tuesday of every month from 4 to 8 p.m. to answer questions you may have about your Winona Health bill. Appointments encouraged: 507.457.4579, option 5. Walk-ins will be accepted as time allows.

Chronic Pain Support Group

Tuesday, February 5, 6 – 7 .m.

Winona Health, Lake Winona Manor Classroom, 855 Mankato Ave.

This monthly support group on the first Tuesday of the month will give individuals an opportunity to ask questions, share tips with others who may be experiencing similar challenges and talk with others who are living with or caring for someone with chronic pain. Winona Health Auxiliary Masquerade $5 Jewelry Sale

Masquerade, a nationally known $5 jewelry company, offers a wide variety of quality jewelry and accessories for men, women and children including rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, wallets, watches--and everything is $5. Cash, check and credit cards will be accepted.

All proceeds will go toward Auxiliary projects and healthcare educational scholarships.

Free Community Health Talk: Mind, Spirit and Body

Wed. Feb 6, 6-8 p.m.

Winona Health, clinic 2nd floor, 859 Mankato Avenue in Winona.

This program provides information, inspiration and motivation for individuals of all ages to take care of themselves so they feel their best mentally and physically. Presenters and topics will be:

Alicia Lalim, exercise physiologist and health/wellness coach, will share information about the aging process and benefits of exercise.

John Rislove, director of Inpatient Services, will address how a positive attitude impacts our mental health and overall happiness.

Heidi Ferris, dietitian, will provide tips and inspiration for enjoying food that tastes good and is good for you.

Bringing Baby Home

Winona Health, Women’s Health Center, 3rd floor of clinic, 859 Mankato Ave., Winona. Learn all about newborns and what to expect during your first weeks at home with your baby. You will learn: - Basic baby care such as diapering, feeding and soothing - The basics of newborn communication - The realities of being a parent of a newborn - When and whom to call with your questions and concerns once you get home Sign up for this class anytime during your last trimester. Family-to-Family Education Program

Thu. February 7, 6 – 9:30

Winona Health, B.A.Miller Auditorium, 855 Mankato Ave.

This 12-week Family-to-Family Education Program is for family members who have a loved one living with a mental illness. It’s taught by trained National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) family members. It teaches families current information on major mental illnesses; up-to-date information on medications and side-effects; coping skills; how to locate support and services in the community; advocacy; and problem-solving and communication techniques. Families will gain insight and information to help empower and support themselves and their loved one. The course if FREE but registration is required. Meets Thursday evenings for 12 weeks. Family to Family Support Group

Do you have a loved one living with a mental illness? If so, this support group provides a place for you that offers information, respect, encouragement, understanding and hope. Meetings are the second Monday of the month from 7-8:30 p.m. No fee, just walk in and join us. For more information, call Helen Newell at 507.494.0905. Alzheimer’s & Other Related Dementias Support Group

Wed. February 13, 6 – 7 p.m.

Please join us for on the second Wednesday of each month for open discussion and support in an informal group setting to ask questions, discuss concerns, and to share your experience with others. Preparing for Childbirth weekend class

Fri. February 15, 6 – 8:30 p.m. and Sat February 16, 8 – 3:30 p.m.

Little Ones Remembered Outreach Group

Watkins Manor Great Hall, 175 E. Wabasha, Winona.

Little Ones Remembered Outreach Group is focused on supporting families who have experienced a loss through miscarriage. It is a safe and accepting place to talk to others who have also experienced the loss of a baby. Gatherings are the third Tuesday of each month, January through November. Free, no registration required.

COPD Support Group

Wed. February 20, 2:30 – 3:20 p.m.

Winona Health, Lake Winona Manor classroom, 865 Mankato Ave

Winona Health respiratory therapist, Bob Elam, RT, facilitates this monthly support group for people dealing with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This support group offers an opportunity to ask questions, share tips with others who may be experiencing similar challenges and to talk with others who are caring for a person who has COPD. Meetings are the third Wednesday of every month. There is no charge. Those who have questions may contact Bob Elam at relam@winonahealth.org or 507.452.7940.

Winona Health Casual for a Cause

The last Friday of every month, the Winona Health Foundation invites all Winona Health employees to wear jeans or team jerseys and make a donation to the Winona Health Foundation for a project or event that benefits patients, residents, families and visitors.

Colors of Cancer Fitness Festival

Join Winona Health, the Winona Family Y, Live Well Winona and various other businesses for the second annual Colors of Cancer event. All proceeds will be donated to Winona Health’s Chemo & Infusion Therapy Department. Choose from a variety of activities throughout the weekend ranging from indoor cycling to an indoor non-competitive or competitive triathlon. Community Health Workshop: Hands Only CPR

Learn how to help someone experiencing sudden cardiac arrest until medical help arrives. You’ll be surprised how easy it is. This fun, informational workshop is for all ages 12 and older.
