Hi Twins fans. Many thanks to all of you who attended this fun event. The Winona Chiefs baseball club is most appreciative to all of you.
This year once again we had two young pitchers, Liam Hendriks and Cole Devries. We also had another pitcher, a really great one, a Hall of Fame chucker by the name of Bert “Get Me Home” Blyleven. To cap off this lineup we were lucky to have the Twins GM Terry Ryan. Terry knows more about the comings and goings of the Twins than anyone in the Twins organization. His answers to questions and his comments were right on target. Bert was his usual happy-go-lucky self and kept the crowd laughing.
Behind the scenes there are many people who have made this midwinter event possible.
We applaud our two sponsors Winona Radio and HBC. Who does it better?
Huge thanks to Bishop Quinn and Monsignor Colletti for the use of the best hall ever—the Holy Family Hall. Kudos go to Tom and Ron for their help in setting things up for us.
Where would we be without our advertisers, the local media.
We have business partners that have been super. And thanks to Patrick Marek, Karen and Dick, Deb Greenwood.
Once again, without my outstanding family and friends we would be lost. Your help cannot be measured.
Thanks to our ticket outlets, Winona Radio, Midtown Foods, HyVee, HBC and Joe’s Barber Shop. Way to go!
Anne with her group prepared a delicious meal. No one left the hall hungry.
Most of all, thanks go to all the Twins fans who made this cold winter’s night a real heartwarmer. See you all in 2014. Go Twins!
