Edna B. Albrecht, 88, of Winona, died February 6, 2013, at Winona Health. Edna was born on January 4, 1925, in Ridgeway, Minn., to Albert and Ella (Pfloughoeft) Rott.
She married Walter “Wally” G. Albrecht on November 30, 1943, in Ridgeway, Minn. Edna and Wally were dairy farmers until they retired in 1984. Afterwards, Edna went to work at Sauer Memorial in the laundry. She then worked at Randall’s as a cook.
Edna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wilson, Minn. She liked to embroider and was an avid bird watcher. She passed many hours working on jigsaw puzzles. She loved her flower gardens.
Edna will be greatly missed and forever loved by all her family and friends.
Edna is survived by; five children, Gary (Carole) of Rushford, Minn., Roy (Darlene) of Rochester, Minn., Joan of Minnesota City, Minn., Jean Douglas of Stockton, Minn., and Crystal (Robert) Griffin of Lewiston, Minn.; eleven grandchildren, Terry Albrecht, Scott (Marisa) Albrecht, Randy (Laura) Albrecht, Lance (Melissa) Albrecht, Ryan Albrecht, Blake and Kyle Vandermoon, Tina Albrecht Pozanc, Chad, Garrett and Jesse Griffin; five great-grandchildren, Justin Grotjahn, Cassidy Albrecht, Ciara Albrecht, Brandon and Ashley Pozanc.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wally, her parents, Albert and Ella Rott, two sisters, Esther and Elsie, grandson, Wayne Albrecht and son-in-law, Carl Douglas.
Funeral services for Edna will be Monday, February 11, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wilson, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Anthony Straseske officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona. Visitation will be Sunday, February 10, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be her eleven grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be her five great-grandchildren.
