The Minnesota Marine Art Museum (MMAM) is a family-friendly art museum dedicated to providing meaningful visual art experiences. In February, the MMAM will continue this family focus with Toddler Tuesday and a new program called Winter Art-venture.
February’s Toddler Tuesday will be Tuesday, February 12th, from 10:30am – 12noon. Anyone with toddler-aged children can participate in this morning of fun at the MMAM. The program takes place in the Museum’s atrium and education room. Kids and families can create toddler-friendly art projects, play with puppets, puzzles and musical instruments, as well as explore the artworks in the Museum’s galleries. Families are invited to come and go as they please and no reservation is required. Toddlers, ages 1-5 years, are $2 each and, as always, MMAM members are free. Adult caregivers are also admitted free.
Also, the Museum is presenting a new program called Winter Art-venture. What is an Art-venture? It is a free program on Saturday, February 16 from 1 – 2:30pm for children 6 and older and their parents. Participants will look at select artworks in the galleries and use them for inspiration in an art-making project. Space for this special program is limited and sign-up is required by calling (507) 474-6626.
