From: Sandy Erdman, Facilitator of the Winona Area Apron Group
The Winona Area Apron Group would like to say, “Thank You” to the Winona Kiwanis for inviting me and my right hand helper Marguerite Schmid to their January meeting to talk on what exactly the Winona Area Apron Group is about and where portions of our funds are going from the sales of our various made and donated items. For those who do not know they go to the Metz/Miller Alzheimer’s Manor, Winona, the Eagles Cancer Telethon towards Cancer Research, Winona Volunteer Services and most recently going to be participating in Habitat for Humanity. We are not your grandmother’s apron group.
I would like to send a “Thank You” to Kristen Ostrem, Resident Program Coordinator and to Maggie Modjeski, Marketing Director at Sugar Loaf Senior Living, Winona for a wonderful time that was had by all when doing the apron/hankie presentation on history and memories with the residents and their guests on January 26, 2013. Another ,”Thank You” to Sharon Stangl, Resident Program Coordinator, Becky Sobolik, Executive Director, staff and the residents at the Sterling House of Winona for letting me come and share with them some of my apron collection and to hear their history and memories of aprons from the past on February 9, 2013.
