On Monday, February 11, at around 4:30 p.m., Winona County Sheriff’s Department deputies and Winona Police Department officers arrested an alleged marijuana dealer after they found 142 grams (about a third of a pound) of marijuana in his home. Officers arrested Jarret Charles Pung, 21, of Winona, for fifth degree possession with intent to sell. According to the report, officers received information from an undercover investigation that Pung was selling marijuana. Officers received a search warrant for Pung’s residence on the 400 block of East 11th Street. According to the report, upon searching the residence they found the 142 grams of marijuana, a number of drug scales, a drug ledger, and drug paraphernalia. In Pung’s basement, officers found a loaded 12-gauge shotgun underneath the cushions of a couch. Pung has a history of possession convictions, officers said, and had a warrant out for his arrest from Washington County for failure to appear. Pung’s three roommates—Bajole Omot Cham, 20, of Winona; Jeoffrey Martyn Minde, 21, of WInona; and Judbear Simon Ochogi, 21, of Winona—are also being referred for possession of drug paraphernalia.
