Dear Dad,
Do you remember the day
your “Ma” passed away
And then four months later
Grandpa too went by her
also to stay
His heart was broken
and it seemed I could see
right through him
“My Grandpa” was giving up
This great man
I never thought Dad,
as being so young,
That my Dad would ever leave
Nor would I no longer
have his love
I know Dad that love never dies
for if it did I wouldn’t still cry
Sometimes I feel you so close
by my side
or hear your voice saying
“My daughter, don’t cry,
I’m right here beside you
Don’t you give up for I’ll always
in someway help you back up.
But one thing you must
understand
There’s someone higher that’s
holding your hand. Talk to Him and
remember He’s greater than I
for He showed us that the day
that He died...
So, smile my child, and know
I am near
and remember you’re all locked
in my heart for always up here.”
