Patricia “Patty” Ann Grossell, age 73, of Winona, Minnesota, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013, surrounded by her loving family after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Patty was born on September 3, 1939, in Winona, Minnesota, to Earl Sr. and Dorothy Kreuzer. After graduation, she went to work for Northwestern Bell. Patty retired from Merchant’s Bank.
On June 16, 1962, she was united in marriage to Deward “Dewey” Grossell in Winona. This union was blessed with four children: Mitch, Tom, Steve and Rob.
Patty loved to remodel her homes, especially the demolition. Her many hobbies included baking, reading and making craft items (holiday decorations).
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Mitch (Teresa Puetz) Grossell of Winona, Minnesota; Tom (Nellie) Grossell of Pahrump, Nevada; Steve (Renee) Grossell of Stockton, Minnesota; and Rob (Michelle) Grossell of Reno, Nevada; grandchildren: Chad, Justin, Dustin, Heather, Kaila, Samantha, Amanda, Brandon, Devon, Skyler, Kylie, Dylan, and Danielle; great-grandchildren: Willie, Adison, Emma, Arianna, and Aiden; mother, Dorothy Kreuzer; brothers; Ted Kreuzer, Earl Jr. “Bud” Kreuzer, and Karl (Char) Kreuzer; sisters: Kathleen Morken, Ellen (Dennis) Pickar, Sally (Dick) Johnson; sisters-in-law: Marilyn Schollmeier, Lavonne Gunderson, Betty Lou (Dan) McCorry; brother-in-law, Mike (Jean) Grossell; special friends, Carol and Whitey Gunderson; other extended family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey; father, Earl Kreuzer Sr; sister, Linda Kreuzer Brooks; brothers-in-law: Gary Morken, Arthur Schollmeier, and Vernon Gunderson.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka in Winona, with the Reverend Donald Lovas officiating.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. A luncheon will follow the Mass in the church basement. Burial will be Monday, February 25, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona.
The honorary bearers will be Patty’s grandchildren.
