The National Eagle Center’s SOAR with the Eagles festival opens this weekend, March 2nd and 3rd. Celebrating the spring bald eagle migration along the Mississippi River, the annual SOAR festival offers special guest programs with live animals and flying birds, live eagle programs, the chance to get your photo with an eagle and more. This year’s SOAR with the Eagles will be held each of the first three weekends in March.
This weekend’s feature program is Wild World of Animals. One of the featured animals, a binturong, is a small, tree-dwelling carnivore. These furry, nocturnal animals are said to smell like buttered popcorn. Is that true? Come and find out for yourself!
This live animal program will also feature such creatures as a warthog, a mandrill and even an alligator! Meet all these creatures and more up close and learn more about them in an engaging, educational program that’s fun for all ages.
Wild World of Animals programs are at 11am and 2pm on Saturday March 2nd and 12pm and 2pm on Sunday March 3rd. A complete schedule of the weekend’s events can be found at www.nationaleaglecenter.org.
