Smith, Leon ‘Jim’ (02/27/2013)

Leon “Jim” Smith, age 70, of Winona, died on Friday, February 22, 2013, at his home.

Jim was born on August 19, 1942, in Wabasha, Minnesota. He was an owner/operator truck driver for T Brothers Trucking out of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Jim’s hobby was fishing.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Leola Smith and brother, Rick Smith and his beloved pets.

Jim is survived by six children: James Smith, Winona; Terri (Randy) Ledebuhr, Mansfield, Texas; Jamie (Scott) Hoegh, Las Vegas, Nevada; Julie (Ken) Deppe, Winona; Joe (Jody) Smith, Portland, Oregon and Ty (Diane) Smith, Winona; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; five siblings: Diane (Jack) Grossell, Fountain City, Wis.; twin sisters, Anna (Dale) Eckert, Rochester, Minn., and Donna (Dennis) Becker, Winona; Lowana Timm, Woodbury, Minn., and Eugene (Carol) Smith, Winona; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family services for Jim will be private.

Martin-Myhre Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
