On Thursday, February 28, after four days of trial, a Winona County jury found the defendant, Nicole Marie Poillon, guilty of three counts of controlled substance crime in the first degree for the sale of cocaine. The Honorable Jeffrey D. Thompson entered convictions on three counts of controlled substance crime in the first degree - sale of 10 or more grams of cocaine. The defendant was taken into custody and a sentencing hearing was set for April 17, 2013.

The police investigation showed that Nicole Poillon sold more than 10 grams of cocaine on April 9, April 15, and April 16, 2010. She was arrested immediately after the third sale. In her purse officers found a large amount of cash, documented controlled buy money, 2.5 grams of cocaine, and 26 hydrocodone pills. During the execution of a search warrant on her residence, officers found large amounts of cash, drug paraphernalia, more cocaine, and more documented controlled buy money.
