Meetings (03/10/2013)
March 11

Stockton, Rollingstone, Minnesota City Watershed District monthly meeting will be held March 11, at 7 p.m.  at the Stockton Community Center, 8600 D St. in Stockton.

The March meeting of the Chautauqua Club will take place on Monday, March 11, at the Winona County Historical Society.  The meeting will begin at noon and will be hosted by Judy Rusert.  Katherine Gilmer will be the co-hostess and the program will be presented by Megan Ping.  Members are reminded to call the hostess at least 24 hours in advance if they are unable to attend the meeting.

March 13

Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold their regular monthly board meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, at the Ag Service Center, 400 Wilson Street, Lewiston.

March 14

The Hiawatha Valley Civil War Round Table will have its next meeting on Thursday, March 14, at 7:00 p.m. on the second floor of the Winona County History Center, 160 Johnson Street, Winona. This month an intriguing presentation will be given by Kathy Goodman of Alma, Wis., on the topic of “Old Abe and the Buffalo Rifles.”  All are invited and refreshments will be served.

March 18

Winona Shrine Auxiliary will meet at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 18, at Westfield Golf Club. The menu will be pork chops, scalloped potatoes, vegetables, salad and dessert. For reservations call Jane Haugan at 454-4253.

March 20

Harvest House, a nonprofit, non-denominational organization for 50 and getting better, will hold their monthly meeting Wednesday, March 20, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Stanislaus hall.  Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with Father Paul Breza as celebrant, for those wishing to attend. There will be a business meeting.  Guest speaker is Jeanne Thorson, restoration and history on dolls.  Bring one from home to share with everyone.   Bring a nonperishable food item for a needy family.  Lunch will be served. There will be a sign up sheet for “Mahalia Jackson” Old Log Theater, April 25. All are welcome on our trips.  For more information, call Dixie at 454-4829 ore Mary Ann at 452-5587.

March 21

The Whitewater Joint Powers Board will meet on Thursday, March 21, at 8:30 a.m. at the Whitewater State Park Visitor’s Center, 19041 Highway 74, Altura.
