April 2

Winona AMVETS Post 4 will meet on Tuesday April 2, at 7:00 p.m. at the Winona Veterans Center on East Sarnia, across from the Lake Park ball diamonds. Any veteran who has served even one day on active duty is welcome. We will be holding nomination officers.

April 4

The Minnesota City First Baptist Ladies Aid will meet Thursday, April 4, at 1: 30 p.m. at the Country Kitchen.

April 8

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas will meet on April 8, at 6:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Church. The audit will be at 5:30 p.m. Rosary and a business meeting will follow. First Communion cards will be prepared

Monthly meeting of the Stockton, Rollingstone, Minnesota City Watershed District will be held April 8, 7 p.m. at the Stockton Community Center, 8600 D Street in Stockton.

April 10

Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold their regular monthly board meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, at the Ag Service Center, 400 Wilson Street, Lewiston.

April 11

The Hiawatha Valley Civil War Round Table in cooperation with the Winona County Historical Society will meet on Thursday, April 11, at 7:00 p.m. in the Wanek Room of the Winona County History Center, 160 Johnson St., Winona. The prominent author and speaker, Michael Eckers, will present us with a lively account of “Minnesota Soldiers 150 Years Ago.” All are invited and refreshments will be served.

Overeater’s Anonymous meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. at 1717 Service Drive ( Faith Lutheran Church).

Al-Anon Family Group Thursdays, 7-8 p.m., St. Augustine Room, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 360 Main Street. A 12-step fellowship for families of problem drinkers. 452-4445 for more information.

Addicted? Set Free! is a twelve week program to help you achieve victory over your addicting behaviors. New members are welcome any time. We meet weekly at Calvary Baptist Church, 676 W. Sarnia St., Winona,  at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evenings.  For more information call 452-6850. 

Celebrate Recovery meets Friday nights at Pleasant Valley Church, 1363 Homer Road, Winona. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program. If  you are looking for encouragement, strength and hope in your life please join us. Our evenings begin at 6:00 p.m. with dinner followed by worship, large group and small group discussions. Widowed Meet and Eat --- Socialization is the greatest need of widowed people. Come and join us every Monday in April at Perkins at 11 a.m. Please call Gladys 452-1555 for information.

The Widowed Persons Social Group (Apr.) meets for breakfast every Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. at the Country Kitchen. Dinners every Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Perkins Restaurant. For information call Gen at 507-452-8334, or 507-458-4258. All calls and messages answered.

Mental Illness:  Family to Family Support Group. Do you have a loved one living with a mental illness?  If so, we provide a place for you that offers information, respect, understanding, encouragement and hope.  Meetings are the second Monday of the month from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Winona Health – Parkview Conference Room.  The next meeting will be Monday, March 11.  No fee just walk in and join us.  Take a right after entering the hospital’s main door.  At the hallway, take another right.  It’s the second door on the left, next to the snack room.  For more information call facilitator Helen Newell at (507) 494-0905.  Cosponsored by (NAMI) National Alliance on Mental Illness-Winona affiliate and Project COMPASS, a Winona Area Public School Community Education Program.

Caregiver Support Group for Adults Age 55 & Better Group provides an opportunity to meet with other caregivers to exchange helpful tips, give and receive support, as well as learn about new resources. The group meets the 1st Wednesday of each month from 2-3 p.m. at the Elder Network office, 1756 Kraemer Drive, Suite 110, Winona.  Contact Renee Kreter at 452-0580 for more information.

Stepping Up is a support group for friends and relatives who again find themselves in the role of parent. The group meets twice a month to discuss a variety of topics such as: child-rearing within the context of current lifestyles, social media, socializing with peers, responsibility and authority roles. Please join us for support and discussion. When: 1st & 3rd Mondays of the month 6:00 - 7:30 pm, Central Building Room 114 (317 Market Street) Please use Northwest entrance, off the playground. Discussions will be facilitated by Jen Whetstone, LICSW Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center, Angela McQuinn, LSW Winona Area Public Schools. In the event of school closing/cancellations, group will also be canceled.

Peer Support Network (PSN) is open 7 days per week. Hours are: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4 p.m.-8 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m-2 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5 p.m. PSN is located at 122 West Second St. in Winona.

DivorceCare is a free weekly seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced at Pleasant Valley Church, 1363 Homer Road, Winona. If you or someone you know is going through a divorce, make sure he or she knows about DivorceCare. It might just be the best thing you could do to help.
