Westbound I-90 lane closure at Dresbach Bridge begins April 11 (04/10/2013)
Mississippi River Trail closed, bicyclists detoured

Motorists on westbound Interstate 90 will experience lane closures on the Wisconsin side of the Dresbach Bridge, beginning Thursday, April 11, as construction activities continue for the I-90 bridge project.

The Mississippi River Trail will close to bicyclists between La Crescent and Dresbach, beginning Wednesday, April 10. Bicyclists should follow the Apple Blossom Scenic Byway.

New Mississippi River Trail segments will be fully open in 2016.

This $187.5 million project is a cooperative effort between the Minnesota and Wisconsin departments of Transportation and will continue through 2016. The project includes constructing a new I-90 crossing over the Mississippi River and reconstructing the Highway 61/14 and I-90 interchange.

The new I-90 river crossing will meet current structural and geometric standards, and the new interchange will improve traffic safety, capacity and access on and between Highway 61/14 and I-90.

For more information about the Dresbach Bridge project, or the Mississippi River Trail detour, visit www.mndot.gov/d6/projects/dresbachbridge.
