by CHRIS ROGERS

The Winona Police Department has a new officer on the force. Paul McKay, 27, of St. Charles, was sworn in on Tuesday, April 9. McKay graduated from Mankato State University with a Bachelorís Degree in Law Enforcement in 2008 and has worked as a detention officer with the Winona County Jail for four years. Now he will be wearing blue and shadowing senior officers during a 12-week training period before he is assigned a regular shift. McKay lives in St. Charles with his wife and two-year-old son.
