WSU Art Department hosts senior shows (04/10/2013)
‘Human vs. Machine’

The Winona State University Art Department will host the Senior Select show “Human vs. Machine” through April 12 in the Weber Gallery in Watkins Hall.

There will be an artist’s talk at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 10.

“Human vs. Machine “ is by studio art major Rebecca Lutz. The show focuses on peoples’ choices as consumers, pairing handmade objects with their mass-produced counterparts to explore why mass-produced products are often chosen over handmade crafts.

‘In the Works’ showcase

The Winona State University Art Department will host the Senior Showcase “In the Works” through April 12 in Watkins Gallery in Watkins Hall.

There will be an artist talk at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 10.

The show focuses on process and features work by art students Colleen Keys, Erin Gunelson, Kayla Fayerweather, Melissa Ozment, Rebecca Lutz and Spencer Farl.

Visitors are welcome to come in, look at the finished pieces, and watch and interact with an artist creating new work.

Events are free and open to the public.
