First Congregational Church (United Church of Christ) Youth Group is sponsoring a silent auction. Funds raised will be split between the Utterly Amazing Outdoor Retreat and a mission trip to Toronto, Ontario. This year the group will experience the utterly amazing outdoor retreat on the Upper Mississippi River, camping on an island and canoeing, kayaking and skiing on the river in their backyard. Several of the youth mentioned that they had never camped on an island. Youth Adviser, Brian Pember commented, “Between Cindy and I we have the camping gear and boats, kayaks and canoes to get these youth to an island to experience what a national treasure we have right here in their backyard.” The mission trip to Ontario is for the high school youth. Erin Wilson commented, “This is my first mission trip with Youth Works. I know we learn about poverty on these trips and we serve in the community. This is really special since I’ll learn how another country serves their poor and I’ll be helping.”
