I am writing in concerns to the lack of public transportation in Winona. The public busing system we have right now is not cutting it. The transportation system does not take into consideration that many of the people needing the bus donít have access to a computer or Internet to look at the bus schedule. This is the first of many concerns I have. Next, the bus system is a good option during the Winona State and St. Maryís school year, but during the summer the safe ride program is not available. Many of the residents in the Winona and Goodview area have no resources for transportation in the evening. I, along with many others, work until the evening hours and this gives no time to use the bus after work. To help eliminate the public transportation problem, I feel there should be more bus stops in every area of the Winona/ Goodview area. There also should be more than one bus station. If there were more bus stations, people would be able to check the bus schedule. If the bus station would be too costly, putting schedules of bus times at each bus stop would help aid in this problem. There also needs to be a transportation system on the weekends and summer times. This is a problem that needs to be fixed, and small changes will help the citizens of Winona in a big way.
