Saturday, April 20
10am: Little Sprouts Program Series
Join us at 10am on the third Saturday of each month for our Little Sprouts Program Series. We will offer stories, games, arts & crafts, and outdoor exploration just for families with children ages 3 - 5 years old. If you plan to bring a large group, please call ahead 507-932-3007 ext 226. Meet in the Discovery Room at the visitor center!
1:30-3:30pm: Fossil Field Trip
On this trip you will find, and can keep, fossils of plants and animals that lived here hundreds of millions of years ago. They were on earth long before the dinosaurs! What can they tell us about this area’s past? Fossil cards, to display your collection, will be distributed. Bring transportation, as the site is nine miles from the park.
Saturday, April 27
10am – 2pm: Lanesboro Earth Day Celebration
Travel on down to Lanesboro with your family to celebrate Earth Day. A variety of free family activities will be offered by various organizations, including Whitewater State Park.
1-2:30pm: Make a Prairie Butterfly Garden
Discover the beauty and importance of native prairie as well as how to make your own small, or large, prairie wildflower garden. In such a garden you can enjoy showy wildflowers through- out the growing season and help save Minnesota’s prairie heritage! Free butterfly-weed seedlings will be available for participants.
