The Minnesota Marine Art Museum (MMAM) is currently recruiting new volunteers to serve in the role of “Museum Greeter.” Greeters serve as ambassadors to the Museum and are asked to commit to work at least one two-hour shift per month where they will help welcome visitors in Museum galleries and maintain the safety of artworks.
“Museum greeters are crucial to helping visitors feel welcome and at ease as they enjoy their time in the galleries. They are the face of our Museum and can have a tremendous impact in how people experience the MMAM,” states MMAM Curator of Education Heather Casper.
The Museum is hoping to add 30 new volunteer greeters to their friendly volunteer corps in order to accommodate the growing needs of the Museum, and in preparation for the MMAM’s gallery expansion to open this fall.
Interested persons should call the Museum’s front desk at (507) 474-6626 and sign up to attend one of the three orientation sessions that will be offered throughout the summer. The training sessions will be held on Saturday, June 8th from 11:00 am- 12:30 pm; Wednesday, July 24th from 3:00-4:30 pm; and Saturday, August 10th from 11 am- 12:30 pm.
