Rita A. Bell, age 58, of Winona, Minn., passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013, at her home.
Rita was born on February 9, 1955, in Arcadia, Wis., to John B. and Ardelle (Tullius) Cierzan II. On September 1, 1973, she was united in marriage with Duane Bell at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.
For many years, she was employed as a receptionist at UBC/Pro-Build. She was a member of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka and also a proud cancer survivor.
Her children and grandchildren were very important to Rita, and she loved spending time with them. She enjoyed taking trips to the casino and Las Vegas, going out on the houseboat, painting ceramics, working crosswords, playing games on Facebook and watching Nick at Nite and TV Land.
Rita is survived by her husband, Duane Bell, Winona, Minn.; mother, Ardelle Cierzan, Winona, Minn.; brother, John (Karen) Cierzan, III, Eden Prairie, Minn.; children, Hollie (Jamie) Niemeyer, Winona, Minn., Tyson (Shannon) Bell, Winona, Minn., Torrey (Melissa) Bell, Beaverton, Ore., and Todd (Carol) Bell, Winona, Minn.; grandchildren, Jacey, Jordan, Jadyn and Jannessa Niemeyer, Ashton, Trace and Rayne Bell, and Savannah “Savy” Bell; mother-in-law, Vera Bell, Winona, Minn.; many nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, John B. Cierzan, II; father-in-law, Clarence Bell; and beloved dog, Max.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 AM, on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka.
The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer will officiate.
Rita will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Friday, May 10, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka, on Saturday, May 11, 2013, from 9 to 10:15 a.m
Pallbearers will be Darrell Volkman, Shane Volkman, Travis Volkman, Ryan Bell, Tim Kwosek, Jamie Niemeyer, Glen Tullius and Kevin Ressie. Honorary Pallbearers will be George Cierzan, Lois Welzien, Roxanne Becker, Emmy Meidinger, Ken Isler, Izabella Cierzan and Chris Peterson.
Memorials may be directed to the Shriners Children’s Hospital in recognition for the care Rita received as a child.
