Cichanowski, David Joseph (05/08/2013)
David Joseph Cichanowski was born October 23, 1950, to Robert and Lucille (Logelin) Cichanowski in Winona, Minn. He passed away at age 62 after a short bout of cancer and suffering the recent loss of his father in March.

He is survived by his brothers and sister, Mike (Linda), Gerry and Mary. Preceding him in death were his parents, brother, Tom, and sister, Jean (Steve Beyers). He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Amy (Marc Bietz) and Heather (Bill Keuper) Cichanowski, Jesse Reed, Sam (Jordan), Lucy (John Clark) and Grace (Steve Sullivan) Beyers, great-nieces and great-nephews; Ursula, Milena, Nathan, two-great nieces and/or nephew are expected in May, and step-nephew and niece, Isaiah and Charlotte and their mother, Missy Beyers. He is also survived by many close aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.

Dave graduated from Cotter High School and St. Stanís. After attending a summer NSF program in North Dakota, he went on to attend St. Maryís University. Dave was active in Scouting. He competed in the Red Wing to Winona Boy Scout canoe race several times and paddled in the Boundary Waters through the Somnerís Canoe Base. Dave was an Eagle Scout.

Dave lived independently at his home. He was employed by Winona ORC Industries for over 25 years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka. The Reverend Monsignor Thomas J. Hargesheimer will officiate.

Dave will be laid to rest in St. Maryís Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka on Thursday, May 9, 2013, from 11 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the Winona ORC.
