Car hits Amish buggy (05/08/2013)
On Friday, May 3, at 10:18 p.m. the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a car hitting an Amish buggy on U.S. Hwy. 53/121 north of Dissmore Coulee Lane in the Township of Pigeon. The vehicle driven by Brady A. Engen, 19, of Strum, Wis., was traveling north when it struck the rear end of a buggy traveling with nine occupants, causing several ejections and injuries. David A. Wengerd, 37, of Osseo, Wis., Lydia M. Wengerd, 38, of Osseo, and seven minor children were involved in the crash as occupants of the buggy. Lydia Wengerd and the seven children have been released from the hospital. David Wengerd is currently still in the hospital for treatment of lower leg injuries which will require additional surgery. The accident is under investigation.
