County residences ransacked (05/12/2013)
By Chris Rogers
There has been a spree of burglaries at Winona County residences. The Winona County Sheriff’s Office received three reports of burglaries on Thursday, May 9. Another attempted break-in was foiled by a security system on Wednesday. Last week two vehicles were broken into; multiple firearms were stolen from one of the vehicles. Most of the burglaries have occurred in the area of Pleasant Valley, south of Winona. One of the homes had a locked door kicked in and another was entered after the burglar broke out a window.

Chief Deputy Ron Ganrude said, “We would like the public to be aware, watch, and if you notice anything suspicious, call.” For the full reports of the recent burglaries see the police blotter.
