All are invited to spend Saturday morning, May 18, in Minnesota City. Garvin Brook Disaster Relief Fund and Youth Baseball will host the Dadís Belgian Waffle breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Paulís Catholic Church. The cost for adults is $8.00, children 4-12 $5.00, and 3 and younger are free. Those interested can get an inside look at the new Wastewater Treatment Plant with tours at 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Parking is available on the plant site and also Wenonah Road.
Stop by the Historic First Baptist Church, 140 Mill Street, from 9:00 a.m. to noon to view Minnesota City history in the building and Archives.
All are invited to Sandy Erdmanís workshop at 10:00 a.m. and presentation ďMere Junk or TreasureĒ to be held at the former Minnesota City School, 115 Iowa Street. You are welcome to bring one item or photo for information.
Erdman is asking attendees to bring one old item--bottles, teacups, old soapboxes-- or photos of these pieces to the workshop. Minnesota City Historical Association (MCHA) has asked attendees to search their attics and outbuildings for glassware for the workshop discussion, or for loan, donation, or photographing for MCHA archives.
All events are free of charge except for the breakfast. Coffee will be served at all sites.
