Local artist Patrick Grace will be exhibiting a series of mixed media works on found paper under the title Ten Years Late(r) at the Winona Public Library Art Room, June 4 – June 25, during regular library hours. The work done ten years ago, when Grace was employed as an exhibit designer at the Minnesota Historical Society, were recently uncovered in his personal archives. Never previously presented to the public, Grace was persuaded to show a selection of 20 or so from the over 120 works done during that time. The impetus for this show was his recent reengagement in the art making process.
Grace has a BS in Art from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a MA in Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is currently employed as the General Manager of the Performance Center at Saint Mary’s University. Part of the active Milwaukee art scene in the 80s, Grace was published in the art journal Art Muscle, exhibited in the Wisconsin Gallery of the Milwaukee Art Museum, and at numerous group shows in galleries there. He also initiated and ran the Two Windows Gallery in the Walker’s Point neighborhood.
There will be an artist reception on Thursday, June 6, starting at 5:30 p.m. All works will be available for sale from the artist.
