Ever since wi-fi has become popular in schools across the country, many teachers have been trying to use devices in the classroom without understanding the whole concept. There are many apps out there for teachers of every subject. The Chemical Touch is a touch sensitive Periodic Table of the Elements. You can tap any element to see information about it, for example, how many protons are in nickel (28). There is also an app called Essentials by Accelastudy. If you are struggling in any foreign language this app has a program for you, Spanish, German, Chinese, and many more. Another app for students, Evernote Peek, a virtual flashcard maker, you just type in the information, and the app does the rest for you. Frog dissection is an app that allows you to “virtually” dissect a frog. This app could help to make sure that everybody gets to partake in the fun of frog dissection. Last but certainly not least, Graphing Calculator is an app that allows you to do all of the things that you could regularly do with any other graphing calculator. As you finish reading this article, I hope that you realize your child’s device can be used for things besides games.
