Chocolate, Shakespeare and Champagne celebrates ten years (05/26/2013)
Summerís premiere event celebrates 10 years this season! Since 2003, the Winona County Historical Society has teamed up with the Great River Shakespeare Festival to host an annual fundraiser for the museum. Attendees are welcomed to a beautiful historic Winona property to mingle with the GRSF cast and crew; enjoy delicious chocolate desserts, champagne and get to preview scenes from the upcoming GRSF performances. Last year the event was hosted by the Historic Huff-Lamberton House. This year itís back at its original location, the Alexander Mansion Bed & Breakfast, which is under new ownership. Richard Grabow is the new Innkeeper at the mansion and is delighted to host this fun and fanciful event. Chocolate, Shakespeare and Champagne will be held on Saturday, June 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. with the preview performances starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 for the public or $20 for WCHS members, and are on sale in advance at the Winona County History Center. A special VIP entrance will be available for those with pre-purchased tickets. Attendees will have the chance to win an amazing gift basket filled with great prizes that include a nightís stay at the Alexander Mansion, dinner at Signatures, fine chocolates and much more! Chances will be sold for $5 each during the event and the drawing will be held at the end of the evening. This fun event is sponsored by Winona National Bank.
