Evangeline T. Meier, age 96, of Winona, died on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Winona Health.
Evangeline was born May 11, 1917, in Winona to Henry and Francis Rollinger. On December 28, 1941, she married Arthur C. Meier. In 1963 they became McDonald’s owners and operated the McDonald’s on the west end of Winona. After Arthur’s death in 1967, Evangeline continued to own and operate the family business until 2003. She enjoyed gardening, debating current events and issues, and was a true entrepreneur.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Meier, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., her son, Ron (Barbara) Meier, Winona; two grandsons: Lance Meier and Travis Meier, both of Minneapolis, Minn., and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Steve Meier; one brother and two sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart with Rev. Jason Kern officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Winona, Minn.
The visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
