Spray paint wielding vandals wreaked havoc in eastern Winona sometime last Friday night. The Winona Police Department reported five incidents of vehicles and property damaged by spray paint sometime overnight. Reports of the damage were not made until the following morning, and, so far, no witnesses have come forward. The same red spray paint was used in each incident, all within blocks of each other.
The rear of a vehicle parked on the 550 block of East Mark Street was marked with spray paint, as was the hatch of a vehicle on the 600 block of East 12th Street. The tailgate and license plate of a truck parked on the 650 block of East 11th Street was streaked with red spray paint. The side of a garage on the 500 block of East 10th Street and the door of a garage on the 550 block of East 10th Street were similarly vandalized.
Additionally, a window was broken out of a residence on the 550 block of Carimona Street after vandals threw a rock through the double-paned glass. Though it occurred in the same area, it is unclear if this report is connected to the spray paint damages.
Damage estimates were not available for any of the reported incidents.
