The new Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge Visitor Center located at N5727 County Road Z, Onalaska, Wisconsin will begin summer operating hours on Monday, June 3, 2013. The summer schedule will be as follows:
Open Tuesday through Fridays, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Open Saturdays beginning June 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Closed Sundays, Mondays, and federal holidays
This schedule will be in effect through Saturday, August 31, 2013.
The refuge is currently seeking volunteers interested in working at the front desk in the Visitor Center. For more information, contact Paula Ogden-Muse at 608-779-2392.
Those who need assistance in planning their refuge visit can call the refuge office at 608-779-2399 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, or visit the refuge website at http://www.fws.gov/refuge/upper_mississippi_river/ to print refuge pool maps and obtain other refuge information.
