Grace M. Orlowske, age 97, of Winona, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare.
Grace was born on September 8, 1915, in Winona, to Stanislaus and Anna (Czapiewski) Joswick. She was united in marriage with John T. Orlowske on June 24, 1950, at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Winona. John preceded her in death on September 14, 1999.
She was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart and the Athletic Club Auxiliary. Grace and her husband, John, owned and operated the West End Greenhouse in Winona for many years with John’s brother and his wife, Joe and Virginia. As a resident of St. Anne Extended Healthcare for the last several years, Grace enjoyed going to daily Mass, playing Bingo, and the excellent care that she received from the staff.
Grace is survived by her children: Patti (Larry) Hinkley, Winona; Tim Orlowske, Avondale, Ariz.; grandchildren: Jason Phillips, Winona, Minn.; and Melissa (Derek) Osborne, Chandler, Ariz., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her brothers: Lambert, Romuald, Mark, Hilary, and Stanley Joswick; and her sisters: Esther Ebertowski, Eleanor Dunning, Margaret Joswick, and Catherine Bell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013, in the Chapel of Our Lady at St. Anne Extended Healthcare. The Reverend Monsignor Roy E. Literski will officiate.
Grace will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Our Lady at St. Anne Extended Healthcare on Saturday, June 8, 2013, from 10 a.m. until time of the Mass.
Memorials may be directed to St. Anne Extended Healthcare Third Floor, or to a charity of choice.
