Comprehensive Plan Committee balanced? (06/09/2013)
From: Darline Freeman

St. Charles, Minn.

The Winona County Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee has a challenging task. Their recommendations will affect the common good of our citizens and how the County will function in the future for us, our children and grandchildren.

As I reviewed the list of Committee members, I noticed that out of fifteen members, only two are women. I did not see any advocates for Bluff land protection, small farms, or local food. I also saw no critics of frac sand mines, sand processing plants or factory farms.

Does this seem like a balanced committee to anyone?
