Donald V. Biesanz, 56, of Fountain City, Wis., suffered a heart attack and later passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wis.

Don was born in Winona, Minn., on June 6, 1957, to C.W. (Bill) and Irene Biesanz. He graduated from Cotter High School. Don’s working career spanned over 30 years at Biesanz Stone, where he became quite a craftsman with dolomite limestone; he was most recently employed at RTP Company.

Don married Silvia Ramirez in 1982 and later divorced; they had three children. He fell in love with his best friend, Lynn Kramer, and they united in marriage on May 21, 1993.

Don was a man of great faith and believer of God. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Don enjoyed spending time at his boathouse, being on the river, and pontoon rides. His favorite pastimes were listening to music, bike rides, dancing, and sitting around the campfire; he also liked to play, coach, and watch hockey and softball – Don was an avid Minnesota Twins, Wild, and Vikings fan.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn, and children: Christina Biesanz (James Sandvig), William Biesanz, Andrew Biesanz (fiancé, Lindsay Huppert), Jesse Kupietz and Samantha Kupietz; grandchildren: Mirranda, Kayleigh, Amelia, Cameron, and Connor; siblings: Charles (Becky) Biesanz Jr., Anne (Ted, Jr.) Roberton, Thomas (Jan Jacobsen) Biesanz, Teresa (Bill) Schumaker, Philip Biesanz, David (CJ) Biesanz, Barbara (Mark) Pozanc, Francis (Rebecca) Biesanz, and Julie Gardner; mother-in-law, Elizabeth (Robert) Fratzke; brother-in-law, Pat (Lisa) Kramer; sisters-in-law: Kathy Kramer, Jodi (Tony) Hohensee, and Jami (Richard) Spitzer; Godchild, Nash Kramer; along with many nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; twin nephews, Austin and Dustin Kramer; great-nephew, Peyton Lorenz; brother-in-law, Geoffrey Gardner; and father-in-law, Richard Kramer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.

The Reverend Monsignor Richard M. Colletti will officiate.

Donald will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Pine Creek, Wis.
