Alleged rape in St. Charles (06/12/2013)
By Chris Rogers
The St. Charles Police Department arrested a 30-year-old St. Charles man after he allegedly raped a 30-year-old Rochester woman in St. Charles at approximately 7 p.m. on Monday, June 10. The woman told police she had met the man in Rochester the day before, stayed at his house overnight, but did not have sexual relations. Just as she was preparing to leave, he forced himself on her, according to the report. The man was arrested without incident. He denies that he raped the woman, according to police officials. The man was released on Tuesday. Charges have not been filed against him. Prosecutors are awaiting a continued police investigation. The Winona County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the case.
