Thesing, Marlys Mary (06/16/2013)

Marlys Mary Thesing, 72, of Lewiston, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.

Marlys, the second of four children, was born January 22, 1941, in Winona, to Wendlin and Helen (Greden) Duellman. She attended country school near Fremont and graduated from Lewiston High School.

Marlys was united in marriage to Donald Thesing on June 8, 1963, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Lewiston.

For many years, she provided daycare to numerous families in the area. She enjoyed watching her family play sports, reading, and especially talking on the phone. She was extremely proud of her grandsons. Marlys was a lifelong member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and was active in its circles. Her energetic, bubbly, and caring personality will be missed by all who knew her.

Marlys is survived by two sons, Don of Lewiston and Doug (Cindy) of Winona; two grandsons, Brandon (Abby) of Pine Island and Aaron of Winona; one sister, Jean Schultz of Lewiston; and brother, Roger (Linda) Duellman of St. Charles. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don, in 2003; and sister, Eileen Erdmann.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2013, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2013, at the church with visitation one hour prior. Reverend Kenneth Thesing will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Please share a memory of Marlys with her family, sign the online guestbook, and view her video tribute when it becomes available at www.hofffuneral.com.
