Project COMPASS Coordinator
The Project COMPASS participants sincerely thank the staff from the Winona Fish and Wildlife Service who volunteered their time and the volunteers from the Friends of the Refuge Headwaters for the fantastic event they sponsored June 6, 2013 at the West End Lake.
The Friends of the Refuge Headwaters served supper to over 60 people. Their generosity in donating the finger licking good food was very appreciated by all.
The Fish and Wildlife staff handled the large number of people in a welcoming, efficient way, leaving everyone with happy smiles. With fishing poles and bait furnished by the Fish and Wildlife Service most participants caught several fish off the pier. One participant, Kathy Wenger, caught eleven fish!
Our (fishing) hats are off to all the volunteers who gave their monies, time, expertise and caring to make this event for people with disabilities a wonderful memory of an evening of food, fishing and friendship.
