Tuesday, June 25

• At 12:50 p.m. deputies received a report of stolen coins and jewelry valued at $3,400 taken from a residence on Hidden Valley Road.

• At 8:51 p.m. officers received a report of the theft by a young male who dashed out of Fifth Street Liquor and into a waiting car with three bottles of alcohol valued at $88. After investigation, officers ticketed two Winonans in connection with the theft: Devon Carleton Zenk, 23, for theft by shoplifting and Sarah Marie Walsh, 20, for theft and liability for crimes of another.

• At 11:42 p.m. officers arrested Thomas Michael Munger, 54, of Rochester, for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated after he was stopped for disobeying a stop sign a Sixth and Winona streets. A preliminary breath test indicated that his blood alcohol content was .13 percent.

Wednesday, June 26

• At 7:47 a.m. officers received a report that two vehicles had been rummaged through overnight on the 450 block of East Third Street. A small amount of change was stolen, the complainants said.

• At 8:53 a.m. officers received a report of a burglary at a residence on the 450 block of East Fourth Street. The complainant stated that while he had been away from the residence, between June 15 and 22, someone had removed a basement door and forced entry to his home. The complainant said he did not notice the burglary immediately because the burglars had apparently concealed signs of the break-in. He reported that $270 in cash and several prescription medications had been stolen.

• At 1:15 p.m. officers received a report of a purse stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked near the 750 block of East Belleview Street sometime overnight. The woman reported that her credit card, debit card, and driver’s license were taken with the purse. The purse was valued at $100.

Thursday, June 27

• Officers ticketed Shawn Michael Fort, 22, of Winona, for theft after he allegedly pawned nine rings and a silver necklace stolen from a 66-year-old Winona woman. Fort received $103 for the 10 jewelry items, police officials reported.

• At 8:14 p.m. officers referred Nicole Ann Mrozek, 19, of Minnesota, for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated and minor consumption of alcohol, Martinique Marie Moreno, 18, of Winona, for minor consumption, and Sadie Ray Stolpa, 18, of Winona, for minor consumption of alcohol, after they were stopped at the base of the Interstate Bridge in connection with an assault complaint. Complainants reported that Mrozek, Moreno, and Stolpa struck them with their fists at the beach at Latsch Island; however, when the complainants learned that the three were being charged for minor consumption, they chose not to pursue assault charges, police officials said.

Friday, June 28

• At 2:47 a.m. officers arrested Jeremy Robert Rezac, 31, of Eagan, for third-degree driving while intoxicated after he was stopped for speeding at Highway 61 and Huff Street. Rezac displayed signs of intoxication, officers said. A preliminary breath test indicated that his blood alcohol content was .24 percent.

• At 5:50 a.m., an officer ticketed Eric Jeffrey Newman, 20, of Wanamingo, for minor consumption of alcohol after he was found sleeping on the 200 block of West Seventh Street. When awakened, Newman exhibited signs of intoxication, officers said. A preliminary breath test indicated that his blood alcohol content was .162 percent.
